TechTrain - Technician Training Program

TechTrain, developed in 1980 by automobile dealers in Southeastern Wisconsin, is a one of a kind program designed to help talented up and coming technicians learn exciting new technical skills at night while going to work during the day. If you are a technician now, no matter your skill level, or would like to become one, but don't know how to get started, TechTrain is for you. At only $250 per semester, plus a one time registration fee of $75.00, TechTrain is the most cost effective training program of its kind anywhere! TechTrain is a five-semester training program geared toward the entry level technician, as well as, an excellent vehicle for experienced techs to bring their skills up to date. Classes meet one evening per week for three hours throughout a 15-week semester. 

The first class, Basic Mechanical Techniques (BMT) is open to all interested students.  Students must complete BMT with mastery of the material in order to register for the four advanced classes.   
Auto Technician Training

Available TechTrain courses are as follows:

  • Basic Mechanical Techniques
  • Automotive Electrical
  • Automotive Driveline
  • Automotive Chassis and Air Conditioning
  • Automotive Engines Emissions

Registration for the Spring semester which includes both Basic Mechanical Techniques and Automotive Engines and Emissoins is underway. Registration can be completed by downloading a registation form and contacting the ADAMM office between the hours of 8:30A.M. and 400 P.M.. All Tuition and registration fees are due prior to the start of classes.   All classes are held at the MATC North (Mequon) and South (Oak Creek) campus locations. Technicians of Tomorrow Competition

The annual ADAMM Technicians of Tomorrow competition pits the top high school automotive technology students against one another in a written and hands on skills competition. The best of the best high school students compete for prizes including Snap-on tools and technical college scholarships. The top two schools qualify for the national finals held at the New York city auto show each spring. ADAMM high school teams are three time winners of the National Automotive Technology Competition.


ADAMM Education Department

ADAMM also has its own Education Department, which offers classes, workshops, seminars and training programs for virtually every other employee at a dealership.

ADAMM also underwrites the UWM Advertising Standards Program to insure the ads you see on television, read in the newspapers or hear on the radio are accurate and understandable.
